HAPPY THANKSGIVING

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I hope everyone enjoyed a special gathering in honor of Thanksgiving. I felt lucky to host the annual holiday and spend time with family and friends. We discussed how fortunate we are to have each other in our lives. To smile, to laugh and to distract each other from disheartening news we hear daily. Of having enough to share… The preparations are always extensive and the cleanup exhausting… but it’s worth all the effort to bring us together in celebration.

I sent this poem around to a few friends this week and share it now with you. A Meditation on Gratitude by Jack Kornfield:

“With gratitude I remember the people, animals, plants, and insects all whose exertion blesses my life every day.

With gratitude I remember the care and labor of generations of ancestors who came before me.

I offer my gratitude for the blessings of this earth I have been given.

I offer my gratitude for the measure of health I have been given. I offer my gratitude to the family and friends I have been given.

I offer my gratitude for the teachings and lessons I have been given.

I offer my gratitude for the life I have been given.”

I send my best to all who support and live at Jewish Senior Life.

Shabbat Shalom.

For decades, we’ve said “Never Forget.” Yet we continue to witness the unsettling rise in Holocaust denial, distortion, and antisemitism, often amplified through social media, fringe ideologies, and a generation increasingly removed from
