On-Site Dietitian

With over 18 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Elizabeth Freyre brings deep expertise and a compassionate approach to her role at Jewish Senior Life. She has worked in a wide range of settings; including clinical inpatient, outpatient, and private practice, and for the past two years, she has proudly served as JSL’s dedicated Dietitian.

Elizabeth provides a variety of nutrition services to support the health, wellness, and enjoyment of all residents across our communities.

Her services include:

Private Nutrition Counseling
Personalized support to help residents manage chronic conditions, improve overall health, or meet specific dietary needs.

Nutrition Education & Classes
Informative sessions on healthy eating, label reading, portion control, and more delivered in a fun, engaging way.

Interactive Cooking Demonstrations
Hands-on experiences where residents learn to prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks.

Menu Planning & Oversight
Collaborating with culinary teams to ensure meals meet dietary standards, are kosher-compliant, and taste great.

Elizabeth also sends out a monthly newsletter that contains a healthy and fun recipe for JSL residents to try (click below).

Elizabeth Freyre Dieitian

Elizabeth lives nearby in Farmington Hills with her husband and three children—two sons (ages 20 and 16) and a daughter (age 11). When she’s not working, she enjoys family time, staying active, and finding new ways to make nutrition both accessible and enjoyable.
